Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
